Hi, I’m Dan. I've been recruiting since 2007, whilst juggling what seems a thankless task as a part time musician, which unfortunately still doesn’t pay me enough to hire a “roadie”.

As dreams of stadium crowds, debut albums, world tours and endless streams of “band banter” start to fade, surprisingly enough my talent company continues to grow. Having spent many years helping awesome accounting and finance talent find meaningful work, I’ve dedicated the last few years to learning more about the product management landscape and building a solid network of analytics, product and data professionals. I genuinely love identifying top talent and working with them to open doors to opportunities that might not have otherwise been available.

When I’m not thinking about creative ways to improve the industry, I’m hanging out with my 5 year old daughter, playing the piano, gigging, attending cross fit, running the Northland trails or watching sport.

Hey, I'm Chris and I’ve been part of the Unicorn Hunters team since early 2020; what better time to change career paths than in the midst of a global pandemic?! In a previous life I spent 15 years in the hospitality management and tourism industry.

Although a little cliché, the best part of my job is working with people and understanding what makes them tick. I’m a bit of a geek and get a buzz from using our tech tools to uncover great talent. I’m someone that loves a challenge and will go above and beyond for my customers.

When I’m not Unicorn Hunting, I love all things sport, with a real soft spot for my beloved Highlanders. I also love a good pub quiz once and a while. My growing family plays a central role in my journey, drastically improving my ability to multitask on limited sleep.
